Chapter Spotlight!
DiscoveryBound’s Southern Oregon Chapter
does it all!
Using a family chapter base, many of their activities are instigated by an active Teen Council, which meets regularly and does several fundraisers throughout the year to replenish funds for camp and DB national events.
Recently one of our council members, working to earn his Eagle Scout badge, organized chapter teens to join his troop in renovating the Medford Sunday School. He led every aspect of the project, from being project manager, to demolition, picking out carpet and painting, to selling left over furniture in the chapter’s annual yard sale. The church has now moved its Wednesday testimony meetings into this dynamic new space, and the chapter even purchased the sound system, which it lends to the church for services. Completing the picture, the Sunday School’s celery-green walls now showcase black and white photos of The Mother Church taken by teens during this year’s Boston Youth Meeting. A recent guest to the Medford Church was so impressed by the project and stories of this chapter that, when she returned home to Southern California, she called a DiscoveryBound chapter representative right away to get involved!
See how we inspire each other!
