2nd SO CAL YOUNG ADULTS “Come to Higher Ground” Regional

A group of about 30 young adult Christian Scientists from all over Southern and Northern California joined together to share another weekend in Laguna Beach of expanding their Bible knowledge with Higher Ground sessions, inspirational discussions about C.S in their lives, and building connections with other young Christian Scientists. This event was sponsored by the new Southern California Young Adult Chapter, and it was a great success. One participant described it as “transforming.”

Other highlights from the southwest region in the past six months have included: over 150 people attending a Principia Luncheon talk supported by the local San Diego Chapter; the start of new Channel Islands Chapter serving areas from Thousand Oaks to Santa Barbara; support of the TMC Youth Spiritual Activism Summit which drew 236 teens and young adults; and an Orange County Chapters Fundraiser Concert featuring Jennifer Foster which earned over $4,000 in ticket sales and donations coming from over 200 people attending the event.

Fall 2007
• Regional Planning Meetings in Southern California and Phoenix, AZ. Family fun day to include setting the year calendar with input from teens, young adults as well as adults Sept. 15 and Sept. 22 respectively
• Inland Empire mini-regional in Palm Desert for juniors and teens featuring a special visit to the Living Desert Museum on Nov. 10-11

Winter/Spring 2008
• Family Regional at the Grand Canyon, Arizona over May 9-11
