Come join us for a weekend in Washington, DC: the Nation’s Capital! This is a wonderful opportunity to explore a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities like navigating the National mall area with a group walking scavenger hunt, exploring the Smithsonian Museums of your choice, inspirational speaker, walking the memorials at night, fellowship, and much more while enjoying the beauty of spring.  Come be a part of the fun for all ages and meet new friends! (agenda below for entire weekend or Saturday only)

WHEN: Friday, April 24, 2020 7:00 p.m. – Sunday, April 26, 2020 11:30 a.m. following church. Check in on Friday at Holiday Inn Rosslyn at Key Bridge is available starting at 3:00 p.m.

 

Feel free to join us anytime on Saturday if you are not able to join us for the entire weekend. You will still need to register/pay and click on the box Saturday only.

WHERE: Holiday Inn Rosslyn at Key Bridge, 1900 North Fort Myer Dr. Arlington, VA 22209

WHO: Christian Scientists of all ages and their friends. This exciting weekend is for all ages (all youth must be accompanied by a parent/guardian).

COST:  $30.00 per person includes scavenger hunt, Smithsonian Museums, Saturday night catered dinner and inspirational speaker. (Does not include lodging, parking at hotel or metro pass.)

Possible Additional Costs:
Rooms are $124.00 plus 13.25 tax per night/room – you can either choose from 2 double beds or 1 king size bed – includes up to 4 people with full breakfast in dining room
Garage parking at hotel is $20 per night
Metro pass from hotel to Smithsonian Museums is $2.35 per person each way

FINANCIAL AID:  Registration financial aid is available for all participants up to $15 per person. Additional aid is available for 2 night lodging at Holiday Inn Rosslyn @ Key Bridge. $15.00 registration cancellation fee if cancelled by April 9, 2019. After April 9th there are no refunds

DB Outreach National Event at CedarS Camps @ CedarS Camps

The DB Outreach National Event will be held at CedarS Camps this year!  Join DB at CedarS for a weekend of fun camp activities, discussions on hot topics, and inspiration!

This is the perfect opportunity to see your friends from school, any of the camps, other DB programs, or just come make a bunch of new ones!  Adults are also invited to join our Adult Track!  You won’t want to miss it!

Discount / FINANCIAL AID:

Teens (parents) may apply for financial aid through DiscoveryBound as part of the registration process.  Assistance for teens is up to $200 for registration, up to $300 for flight expenses, and is granted on a first come, first served basis.  For additional assistance, you are welcome to reach out to a local branch church or DiscoveryBound Chapter, or to fund raise independently!  Please reach out to us if the amount stated above doesn’t meet your needs.  Our goal is for finances to never be an obstacle for teens to join us for an event.  We are excited to be able to offer adults Aid this year as well, up to $150 for registration and $150 for travel.

HOUSING:

Housing will be provided for all participants, both teens and adults, in cabins at CedarS Camps.  Adults will have air-conditioning accommodations separated by gender with the option to request a specific roommate or pay an additional fee for a single room.  Teens will be in cabins separated by gender with DB-appointed adult chaperones.

TRAVEL:

Book flights to arrive at St Louis Lambert Airport between before 2:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 4th.  Depart out of the same airport after 2:00 pm on Monday, Sept. 7th.  The DiscoveryBound staff will greet you at the airport and provide ground transportation to/from the event.

If you are traveling in a personal vehicle, arrive at CedarS Camps between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm on Friday, Sept 4th, and depart between 8:00 am and 9:00 am on Monday, Sept. 7th.

If these flight windows do not work for you for any reason, please let us know and we will do our best to coordinate a different flight time that will work.  Please keep in mind the drive from the airport to CedarS is about 2.5 hours.  Feel free to reach out to Mackenzie Shepherd with any travel questions. 303.779.3000 ext. 138

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Refunds, less a $70 teen cancellation fee or $200 adult cancellation fee, will be given for cancellations on or before August 13th.  If you did not submit payment upon registering, you will need to pay the corresponding fees.  Following August 13th, no refunds will be given and you will be responsible for the full registration fee.
