Can Humpback Whales help us with the search for extraterrestrial intellIgence:

A Virtual Talk by Dr. Laurance Doyle

What:

The search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) has so far only looked for technology in space.  But is there a way to tell if the message itself is intelligent?  We will share research into the communication system of the humpback whales with the idea of coming up with an intelligence filter for SETI.  We will also share a bit of the metaphysics behind this research.

When:

Sunday, January 31st, 2021 at 4:00pm PST, 5:00 MST, 6:00 CST, 7:00 EST

30-45 min Zoom Webinar with time for Q&A following the talk.

who:

DB Outreach: 20s/30s Spring Retreat – SAVE THE DATE @ Crystal Lake Camps
May 21 @ 4:00 pm – May 23 @ 3:30 pm

db 20s/30s spring retreat at crystal lake camps

Join us at Crystal Lake Camps, the Christian Science camp located in Hughesville, Pennsylvania, for a weekend of fun camp activities!

We’ll enjoy waterfront activities such as canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, and maybe even swimming for those brave enough to dive in; we will venture up the High Ropes Course and Climbing Wall; play a round or two of 8 Sticks (a CLC classic, kind of like capture the flag); and explore some of the 25 miles of trails.

During this weekend, we’ll have time to relax, get to know one-another, enjoy the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of Crystal Lake, and engage in metaphysical discussion.
