Who: Christian Science adults of all ages and friends of all faiths
What: Explore breathtaking landscapes while rafting the Kennebec River, hike to the stunning Moxie Falls, experience kayaking and stand up paddle boards and enjoy wilderness camping under the stars. Disconnect from devices and take the time to connect with CS adults and your friends of all faiths from across the country for an Adventure in Maine’s vacation destination. We have all the adventures and challenges you’ll love. In addition to great adventures, base camp is no ordinary base camp. You will even get a chance to have Lobster if you would like! This guided multi-day trip is inspiring and all inclusive* – all you need to do is have the time of your life in the great outdoors.
Travel: The program starts and finishes in Caratunk, Maine. Base camp (Adventure Bound) is approximately 2.5 hours from Portland, ME and about 4.5 hours from Boston, MA. A DB shuttle is available to/from Portland, ME airport for an additional fee: $25 one way ($50 for round-trip). Please see the Travel Form above to give us your transportation information.

July 20, 2019 – Departs Portland, ME Airport at 1:15pm to arrive at Base Camp by 4:00pm (arrive into PWM by 12:30 p.m.)
July 24, 2019 – Depart Base Camp at 10:15am to arrive at Portland, ME Airport by 1:00pm (depart PWM after 2:30 p.m.)
Accommodations: Gender-based bunkhouses for 3 nights and gender based tents for camp-out for 1 night or bring a tent to stay with spouse during the weekend.
Level of Activity – need to be an active adult since we will be camping and white water rafting as the main activity.
There will be a licensed Maine guide in each raft when we go on the class III-IV white water rafting. Short hike to Moxie Falls.

Financial Aid
Thanks to recent generous donations, DiscoveryBound is now able to offer scholarships to adults attending DB events and programs. DB can even help with up to $150 towards registration and/or up to $150 towards travel costs. Do not let finances stop you from attending this DB event! Cancellation Policy
Refunds less a $290 cancellation fee, will be given to participants canceling by Wednesday, July 3rd. No refunds will be issued after this date and you will be responsible for the full registration fee.

Day 1 adventures consist of introductory rapids in smaller 8-ft. self-guided rafts along the East Outlet of the Kennebec River just below Moosehead Lake, with Adventure Bound staff providing support from kayaks and leading the way. Stopping at Ledge Falls for a picnic lunch and fun at the falls. From there you continue on a motorboat shuttle to their remote (boat access only) campsite on Indian Pond. The campsite will have tents and sleeping pads provided for us. Enjoy a cheese/cracker/pepperoni snack along with veggies and dip while the guides prepare dinner. |

Following the upper gorge section of rafting in the morning, we will stop along the banks of the river for a riverside barbecue. |

DB 20s/30s New Hampshire Camping Trip
Come Join us for a weekend of camping up in New Hampshire!
Hiking, swimming, fun, friends, and of course S’mores by the campfire!
Cost is $11 per person per night for the campsite. Please pay BJ Thompson to confirm your registration. You can come for either Friday night ($11), Saturday night ($11) or both($22).

Be part of a 23 person group of 20s/30s staying at Moab’s newest luxury townhouses with pool, hot tub and free Wifi. It’s a perfect launching pad to choose your own day-trip adventures to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, all while enjoying an inspiring and healing Christian Science atmosphere.

Getting There:
- Driving
We recommend that you carpool to Moab, UT, if you are coming from neighboring states.
To encourage carpooling of at least two people per vehicle, $50 fuel aid per vehicle is offered and distributed at the event.
- Flying
For those who live too far away to drive, the closest major airport is Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). DB is providing two vans from SLC to Moab and back. To be eligible for a van ride, you’ll also need to land before 12:00pm noon on Thursday October 3rd and depart after 4:00pm on Monday October 7th. Luggage space is extremely limited, so please bring carry-on only.
Additional Costs:
- The cost of park passes for the two vans will be covered by DB. If there are additional travel groups beyond these, park passes will be at those participants’ expense. Seven day passes are available at the Park Entrance Stations for $30 per Park or an annual Southeast Utah Parks Pass for $55 per vehicle. If you already have an Annual National Park please bring it to allow maximum flexibility for travel groups.
- Arches National Park Fiery Furnace hiking permit costs $6 per adult (not included).
- Mountain bike rentals are available in Moab for ~$60 per day (not included).

This SATURDAY, Oct. 19
Meet at Tiburon Ferry at 9:45 AM (ferry leaves at 10:00) and every hour on the hour.
Ferry cost: $15 round trip
People can bring a bike on the ferry or rent a bike at the island. Bike rentals are $13.50/hour or $50/day. The main biking option is to ride around the perimeter on a paved loop.
Last time, most of the people hiked up Mt. Livermore, which is 800 feet. It was about a 2 hour hike up and an hour down.

Come join us for a weekend in Estes Park outside of Rocky Mountain National Park! This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about photography while enjoying some of the best Rocky Mountain National park has to offer. The weekend will include inspiration, fun, Sunday School, a workshop by Sam Sensor on photography, making new friends, hiking to some iconic lakes in the park including Bierstadt and Sprague Lake, and enjoying everything the YMCA has to offer. Teens you won’t want to miss this amazing weekend! Space is limited.
WHEN: Friday, November 8, 2019 6:00 p.m. – Sunday, November 10, 2019 12:30 p.m.
WHO: Christian Science 7th thru 12th Graders and their friends of all faiths.
WHERE: YMCA Estes Park, 2515 Tunnel Rd, Estes Park, CO
COST: $99.00 per person includes a two night stay at the Estes Park YMCA, all meals, free admission to Rocky Mountain National Park, a photography workshop by Sam Sensor, and onsite activities at the YMCA including roller blading.
FINANCIAL AID: Teens (parents) may apply for financial aid through DiscoveryBound as part of the registration process. Assistance for teens is up to $70 for registration, and up to $200 for air travel finances, and is granted on a first come, first served basis. For additional assistance, you are welcome to reach out to a local branch church or DiscoveryBound Chapter, or to fund raise independently. Please reach out to us if the amount stated above doesn’t meet your needs. Our goal is for finances to never be an obstacle for teens to join us for an event.

Let us know if you want to come but need a ride down and we can arrange carpools. You can also take the Commuter Rail to get out to their house. Let us know if you plan on taking the Commuter Rail and we can pick you up from the station.
