Come join us for a weekend in Estes Park outside of Rocky Mountain National Park! This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about photography while enjoying some of the best Rocky Mountain National park has to offer. The weekend will include inspiration, fun, Sunday School, a workshop by Sam Sensor on photography, making new friends, hiking to some iconic lakes in the park including Bierstadt and Sprague Lake, and enjoying everything the YMCA has to offer. Teens you won’t want to miss this amazing weekend! Space is limited.
WHEN: Friday, November 8, 2019 6:00 p.m. – Sunday, November 10, 2019 12:30 p.m.
WHO: Christian Science 7th thru 12th Graders and their friends of all faiths.
WHERE: YMCA Estes Park, 2515 Tunnel Rd, Estes Park, CO
COST: $99.00 per person includes a two night stay at the Estes Park YMCA, all meals, free admission to Rocky Mountain National Park, a photography workshop by Sam Sensor, and onsite activities at the YMCA including roller blading.
FINANCIAL AID: Teens (parents) may apply for financial aid through DiscoveryBound as part of the registration process. Assistance for teens is up to $70 for registration, and up to $200 for air travel finances, and is granted on a first come, first served basis. For additional assistance, you are welcome to reach out to a local branch church or DiscoveryBound Chapter, or to fund raise independently. Please reach out to us if the amount stated above doesn’t meet your needs. Our goal is for finances to never be an obstacle for teens to join us for an event.
Cancellation Fee: $29 registration cancellation fee if cancelled by October 17, 2019. After October 17, 2019 there are no refunds.

Lodging: Accommodations will be at the YMCA in Estes Park, CO five minutes outside of Rocky Mountain National Park.
Equipment needed: Please bring your own camera. If you have a camera that uses an interchangeable lense that is ideal however, all cameras are acceptable including cell phones.

Postponed to Spring 2021
Join us at Crystal Lake Camps, the Christian Science camp located in Hughesville, Pennsylvania, for a weekend of fun camp activities!
We’ll enjoy waterfront activities such as canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, and maybe even swimming for those brave enough to dive in; we will venture up the High Ropes Course and Climbing Wall; play a round or two of 8 Sticks (a CLC classic, kind of like capture the flag); and explore some of the 25 miles of trails.
During this weekend, we’ll have time to relax, get to know one-another, enjoy the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of Crystal Lake, and engage in metaphysical discussion.

Gain new insights on the life and works of Mary Baker Eddy while touring many of her houses through the Longyear Museum.
When: Thursday July 9 5:30-6:30 PM – Sunday July 12 5:00 PM
Where: Throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire
Who: People in their 20s/30s interested in learning more about MBE and her life and works
Cost options: $200 (sharing by gender), $275 (own bed sharing by gender), $425 (for own room). Cost includes accommodation Friday and Saturday nights, travel to houses, meals from Thursday dinner to Sunday Breakfast. Thursday night accommodation in the Boston area is not included but for those coming from out of town have the option to be hosted and a $25 contribution to your host is recommended.

DB Outreach: New England – National Event Alternative In-Person Gathering
Join us for an in-person gathering at Hopkinton State Park for teens (grades 8th-12th) and separate track for adults for a fun day of water activity, short hike, inspiration and discussion sessions. Meet new friends and enjoy the outdoors! We are offering this event outdoors so that we can follow state guidelines and regulations regarding social distancing and group gatherings.
There is a maximum of 10 adults at picnic site due to the MA restrictions and guidelines.

What:
The search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) has so far only looked for technology in space. But is there a way to tell if the message itself is intelligent? Dr. Doyle will share some of his research into the communication system of the humpback whales with the idea of coming up with an intelligence filter for SETI. He will also share a bit of the metaphysics behind his involvement with this research.

About Dr. Laurance Doyle:
Dr. Doyle was raised along the California coast in the small town of Cambria. He attended San Diego State University and after receiving his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in astronomy, he worked as an engineer with the Voyager spacecrafts in the Space Image Processing Group at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He thereafter received his PhD from the University of Heidelberg in Germany in 1987 on radiative transfer modeling of Saturn’s rings using Voyager spacecraft imaging data. Since 1987 he has been a Principal Investigator with the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California where his main projects have been the photometric detection of extrasolar planets, and the application of information theory to animal communications. He has been a visiting Lecturer at the University of California, Santa Cruz teaching classes on Life in the Universe, and Light & Optics, and has more than one hundred refereed papers in the scientific literature. He was a Member of the NASA Kepler Mission Science Team with responsibility for detection of extrasolar planets around double star systems and found the first such circumbinary planet. He has taught quantum physics, thermodynamics, introductory astronomy, history of science and Native American history at Principia College in Illinois, and was the Director of the Institute for the Metaphysics of Physics at Principia College from 2014 to 2019. He was on the Christian Science Board of Lectureship for over a decade, doing the first video lecture, and has been a contributing editor for the Christian Science Sentinel, the Christian Science Journal, and the Christian Science Monitor. He has addressed 21 Christian Science Associations in the US, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
