Adult Dry Tortugas & Key West Adventure

When:

Thursday, October 30 after 3:00pm – Monday, November 3 until 11:00am
Please plan to arrive at the Old Town Manor between 3:00-6:00pm on Thursday, October 30 and depart on Monday, November 3 by 11:00am

  • Step into history – visit iconic spots: the Mel Fisher Museum, Hemingway House & Truman’s Little White House
  • Discover the best Key Lime pie in town – it’s a delicious mission

National Park and ocean lovers will enjoy this long weekend trip to Key West with a visit to the Dry Tortugas National Park. Along with exploring the fort and snorkeling the warm waters, the late fall will bring warm winds as you look for the green flash at sunset, an iconic Key West event. Enjoy touring the Mel Fisher Museum together to hear about “where our treasure is”. 

You’ll have free time throughout the trip to explore and enjoy Key West at your own pace. There’s no shortage of things to do—from visiting landmarks like Truman’s Little White House, the Butterfly Garden, and the Hemingway House to more adventurous options like jet skiing, paddle boarding, or cruising around town on an electric bike. And of course, make it your mission to sample Key Lime pie everywhere you go!

Staying in the heart of downtown at Old Town Manor, you’ll have easy access to all of our planned and independent activities. Park once and walk yourself into fun and sun. 

Accommodations are a mix of double occupancy king and queen rooms, all with in room bathrooms. It’s an ideal place to relax each evening with good company and great conversations.

Financial assistance is available. Please register first before completing the Financial Aid Form. Space is limited, so register early so you don’t miss out on this great opportunity.

Fly into Key West to take advantage of the complimentary DB airport shuttle. For those flying into Miami, transportation must be provided. Travel from Miami is approx. 5 hours

Fees are based on double occupancy. First priority for king rooms will be those coming in pairs and willing to share a bed. All rooms have private bathrooms.

When registering, please indicate your roommate, unless you are paying for a private room.

Optional Activities at an additional cost:

During registration, you’ll have the opportunity to select from a range of optional Saturday morning activities. Please note that these are NOT included in the registration fee.

As the trip approaches, we’ll confirm each participant’s selections. At that time, you’ll have the chance to make changes if needed, and we’ll secure final pricing with the activity vendors.

Once the finalized details are shared with the group, you’ll have the option to either proceed with your chosen activity or cancel your selection.

THESE ARE APPROXIMATE CHARGES

  • ½ day of Jet skiing – $140
  • ½ day of Paddle boarding – $45
  • 1/2 day of Kayaking (single kayak) – $40
  • ½ day of Electric bike rental – $50
  • Beach, pool or explore town – free

For those who register after August 28, we will contact the Dry Tortugas excursion provider to confirm ticket availability. If no tickets are available, we will arrange a different activity for you.

Payment & Cancellation Policy:

  • A deposit of $795.00 is due at the time of registration.
  • The remaining balance is due by August 28, 2025.

If you decide to cancel your trip, the following fees will apply, and payment is due upon receipt of your cancellation notice:

  • Up to August 28, 2025: $795 of the total trip cost is non-refundable.
  • After August 28, 2025: 100% of the trip cost is non-refundable.

Please follow this payment schedule and make payments when appropriate. Participants may log into CampInTouch at any time to pay a portion of the trip, however, DiscoveryBound is not offering a payment plan this time. The deposit does not include any financial aid awarded. *Nor any additional activities or fees (paddle boarding, jet skiing, parking pass etc).

Financial Aid:

Financial aid requests must be submitted by August 15, 2025 to fall within our 48 hour cancellation policy.

Financial aid is available on a need-based basis, offering up to $250 toward registration and up to $150 toward travel expenses (not to exceed 50% of your travel costs).

If the awarded amount does not fully meet your financial needs for this event and you decide to cancel your registration, you must notify us at dbinfo@discoverybound.org within 48 hours of receiving your financial aid notification. If you cancel, your deposit will be refunded, minus a $25 cancellation fee. *After Aug 15, the 48 hour cancellation policy no longer applies.

All cancellations must be made in writing by email to dbinfo@discoverybound.org or mailed to the below address and should include a reason for canceling.

Travel Information:

For those Driving: 
Arrive: Thursday, Oct 30 between 3:00-6:00pm at Old Town Manor
Depart: Monday, Nov 3 by 11:00am from Old Town Manor

For those Flying:

  • We encourage you to book your flights soon to capture the less expensive fares. If flying to Key West, DB offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the Key West International Airport (EYW)

DiscoveryBound Transportation to the Key West Airport:
We can pick you up and drop you off at the Key West International Airport (EYW) on travel days:

  • Arrival: Thursday, Oct 30, Pick-up at EYW between 2:30pm – 6:00pm if you are using the complimentary DB shuttle. 
  • Departure: Monday, Nov 3, Drop-Off at EYW no earlier than 10:00am
  • If an earlier drop-off is needed, please contact us if you are using the complimentary DB shuttle.

Accommodations:
Old Town Manor – a mix of double occupancy king and queen rooms. There is a pool at their sister hotel close by, walking distance.  Fees are based on double occupancy. First priority for king rooms will be those coming in pairs and willing to share a bed. All rooms have private bathrooms. 

There is public parking near the Manor where you can park for the whole weekend since this is a walkable trip. $15 nightly (4 nights=$60) parking pass from The Manor.

Activity Level: Moderate

This trip includes walking approximately 1-2 miles throughout the day and time spent snorkeling and swimming. Participants should be comfortable in the water and prepared for warm weather and outdoor activities.

Weather:

The weather is typically consistent, between the mid 80s in the day with nights in the low 70s. Rain showers are possible. Check the weather before packing.

Packing List:

Essentials

  • Day backpack for carrying things for Dry Tortugas and around town
  • Comfortable shoes for walking and flip flops or sandals for the beach
  • Comfortable clothes – light shirts, shorts (bringing light layers is best)
  • Casual clothes for the Sunday Church service
  • Light fleece jacket/pullover (can get breezy on the water)
  • Swimsuit and water shirt (towels provided)
  • Rain/shell layer or umbrella
  • Sleep wear
  • Personal toiletries 
  • Water bottle

  • Camera
  • Powerbank for charging devices 
  • Sunglasses, chapstick, hat and sunscreen
  • Christian Science Bible Lesson
  • Personal snacks (trail mix, etc.) beyond what is provided by DB
