2020 National Event Alternative: Fall In-Person Gatherings
Join us for our National Event alternative this year in Colorado! This one-day event is still for teens (grades 8-12) and adults. Get ready for a fun day of climbing in a ropes course, discussion sessions, inspiration and fellowship! Come meet new friends and enjoy the outdoors in beautiful Colorado! We are offering this event outdoors to comply with state guidelines and regulations regarding social distancing and group gatherings.

Saturday, September 19th, 2020 from 11:00am – 7:30pm (dinner provided)

Who
Christian Science Teens (grades 8-12) & Adults and their friends of all faiths
Cost
$30 per person
Includes: ropes course, activities, and dinner. Registration is open!
Financial Aid
Financial aid is available up to $15 per person. If DB cancels this event due to changes in state regulations or weather conditions you will receive a full refund.
Tentative Schedule for teens and adults
11:00am – Arrive and welcome, icebreaker games
11:30 – Adults: 15 min inspirational talk (again focused on the meta-theme)
12:00 – Teens & Adults lunch (please bring a sack lunch with you)
12:30 – Teens: 15 min. inspirational talk
1:00pm – Teens: Active session (ropes course)
1:00pm – Adult discussion sessions:
- 1:15-2:00pm discussion session topic: Finding Peace & Strength in a Time of Upheaval
- 2:15-3:00pm Chat with the Prac (similar to brown bag discussions)
3:30pm – Teen discussion sessions:
- 3:45-4:30pm discussion session topic: Finding Peace & Strength in a Time of Upheaval
- 4:45-5:30pm discussion session topic: Jam Session (brown bag discussions)
3:00pm – Adults: Active session (ropes course)
5:30pm – Hangout time – frisbee/spike ball/etc.
6:00pm – Asher Student Foundation short presentation
6:15pm – Dinner served for everyone – DB will be providing dinner.
6:45pm – Everyone share highlights, inspiration, and gratitude
7:00pm – Evals & Fruitage
7:30pm – End of day – goodbyes!
*Things to bring: Sack lunch, full water bottle, camping chair/crazy creek, mask, comfortable clothing for climbing in the ropes course and/or other activities (*longer pants and closed toe shoes are mandatory for the ropes course, but please feel free to bring a change of clothes to change into afterwards).
Special note: State social distancing and other restrictions will apply during our time together.
