Connect with other Spiritual Seekers

DiscoveryBound Adult activities help you explore more about the practical application of Christian Science while connecting with other spiritual seekers in an inclusive and supportive atmosphere that is comfortable for everyone.

Outreach Adult Chapter Activities

DiscoveryBound Chapters answer the needs of the community they serve. Local Chapters can offer a variety of events that serve adults, parents, children, teens or all these groups combined. Check with your local Chapter for more information. Outreach is also making an effort to organize events for adults (20s & 30s) to come together with their peers in a Christian Science atmosphere to socialize and network.

Outreach national Annual Events

Adults are welcome to attend an adult track at National Annual National Events. The adult tracks will provide an opportunity to be with other Christian Science adults, be in a spiritual atmosphere and learn more about ways to grow and support DiscoveryBound in your community.

National Leadership Council (NLC) Alumni Group

The National Leadership Council Alumni Group is a new initiative that is currently gaining momentum. The plan is to bring alumni together for an annual service trip. For more information contact the NLC Director email or call 888.416.7348 x134.

Get Involved

Adults are also needed to share their skills with the DiscoveryBound program through a variety of volunteer roles. Some of these opportunities include starting an Outreach Chapter, being a Chapter Worker, Chaperone, National Leadership Council (NLC) Mentor, National Leadership Council (NLC) Leader or Compass Guide.

I was so impressed by the entire program, the teenagers, our hosts for the adult track, the companionship, the fun, the laughter, the inspiration and everything about the event!

Come to the wildest party in town!!

Join DiscoveryBound for an exciting afternoon and evening full of games, an inspirational talk, dinner and the highlight will be the guided tour of the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs.  Come see this very special mountain Zoo that USA Today rated as #4 in the top 10 zoos in the US.  Don’t miss the opportunity of a lifetime to have a private tour of the zoo, feed the giraffes and visit the animals as the sun goes down and the twinkling lights of the city come out!

Who:

All ages – families, 20s/30s, adults and your friends of all faiths
(all youth must be accompanied by a parent/guardian)

When:

Saturday, August 21, 2021

What:

  • Cook and eat Smores at the Zoo
  • Feed the giraffe herd their favorite lettuce snack
  • Take a private and unique tour led by Zoo staff
  • Experience an up-close animal meet and greet with a CMZ ambassador animal
  • Inspirational Speaker
  • Gather with friends and meet new friends

This event includes a lot of walking around the zoo, including uphill and downhill.  You may bring strollers and wagons for children to ride in around the zoo. The Zoo’s elevation rises from 6,714 feet at the front admission gate to nearly 7,000 feet above sea level at the Zoo’s highest points of Asian Highlands and Rocky Mountain Wild.  With elevations of this magnitude, it’s important for guests to:

  • DRINK WATER – Keep hydrated by taking plenty of breaks to rehydrate with water.
  • Take your time and don’t overdo it, especially if you are visiting from locations much lower in altitude than Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Participants should dress comfortably and a waterproof jacket and sweater/sweatshirt are recommended.

PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER- programs will not be cancelled due to poor weather

Packing List:

  • Rain jacket (weather appropriate).
