29.Events_Outreach-Chapter(1)Chapter Events are organized by local volunteers and are often supported by DiscoveryBound staff. Local Chapters offer a variety of events for families, teens, 20s-30s and adults or a combination of these groups.

What To expect

Inspiration and friendships are at the heart of local DiscoveryBound Outreach Chapter Events. Activities have included:

  • Family day at the beach
  • Adult dinners and discussions
  • Ultimate Frisbee
  • Operation Testimony Meeting (OTM) at area Christian Science church
  • Hymn sing / Christmas caroling
  • Service project

They often help promote, chaperone and fund raise for youth participation at DiscoveryBound Regional Weekends, National Events, as well as financially support attendance at Christian Science summer camps.

DB Outreach: SuperNova Chapter – River Trip @ The Hedlund Home

DiscoveryBound river trip to the Northern Neck in a gorgeous home on the Wicomico River near Reedville, VA.  Enjoy the pool, hot tub, boat and tubing on the river. This trip is for 6th graders and up.

College students: We’d love for you to join us! Take a break from the beginning of classes with a relaxing and fun trip with other Christian Scientists where you can truly unwind.

We hope you can join us! And friends are more than welcome.

Ellison Colarossi is part of the National Leadership Council’s (NLC) graduating class of 2020T. She is hosting a potluck picnic in the park with food, games and fun!  We will provide hamburgers and hot dogs.  Please support the event by bringing your favorite dish – Last name beginning with A-M bring your favorite side dish, and N-Z please bring your favorite dessert.  Parking is $5 per car.

Come join us for a weekend at Stone Mountain Park. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore a wide variety of family-friendly outdoor activities, plus  many natural and historic sights with 3,200 acres.  The weekend will include a Swiss cable car ride to the summit, hiking, scenic railroad, water sports like canoeing, kayaking & SUP, reserved terrace seating for Lasershow Night Spectacular, BBQ dinner & inspirational speaker, Pumpkin Festival and much more. Come be a part of the fun!

WHO: Christian Science families of all ages, 20s/30s, adults, and their friends of all faiths.

COST:  $45.00 per person includes an all attraction pass, water sports, 2 breakfasts, Saturday night BBQ Catered Dinner & Inspirational Speaker, and reserved seating for Laser Show with drink and popcorn.

FINANCIAL AID:  Registration financial aid is available for all participants up to $20 per person. Additional aid is available for family lodging if needed. Fill out financial aid form above.

This event is subsidized by the Asher Student Foundation and DiscoveryBound Atlanta Chapter.

Cancellation Fee:
$25.00 registration cancellation fee if cancelled by August 7, 2019. After August 7 there are no refunds.
No Refund deadline:  August 8, 2019
