29.Events_Outreach-Chapter(1)Chapter Events are organized by local volunteers and are often supported by DiscoveryBound staff. Local Chapters offer a variety of events for families, teens, 20s-30s and adults or a combination of these groups.

What To expect

Inspiration and friendships are at the heart of local DiscoveryBound Outreach Chapter Events. Activities have included:

  • Family day at the beach
  • Adult dinners and discussions
  • Ultimate Frisbee
  • Operation Testimony Meeting (OTM) at area Christian Science church
  • Hymn sing / Christmas caroling
  • Service project

They often help promote, chaperone and fund raise for youth participation at DiscoveryBound Regional Weekends, National Events, as well as financially support attendance at Christian Science summer camps.

DB Outreach: RockinJump & Pot Luck – Westchester County NY @ Rockin Jump

11:00 a.m.- 12:30 Rockin Jump (333 N. Bedford Rd. Mt. Kisco, NY 10549)
90 minute session
Cost:  $21-$22 per child depending on how many kids sign up

12:45-3:00 –  Pot Luck Lunch/Hangout/Nerf War/Short inspirational session at Charlie & Susan Youngblood’s home (about 15 minutes south of RockinJump)  5 Evergreen Row Armonk NY 10504

For pot luck, the group leaders will provide hot food.  Most can bring chips, cookies, drinks.

DiscoveryBound Dessert Auction & A/U Ranches Gathering – Denver @ Koelbel Library (Rooms A & B)

Come enjoy a dessert auction fundraiser for the Denver Metro DB Chapter, learn about the A/U Ranches, enjoy some pizza and take home some fabulous treats!
Cindy Engel, auctioneer extraordinaire, will be auctioning off yummy desserts. This fundraiser benefits our metro Denver CS youth and their involvement in local, regional and national DiscoveryBound events. This chapter also supports local family activities.
Before the auction, enjoy lunch, learn about A/U Ranch programs for youth, teens, families and adults. See the A/U Ranches brand NEW video.
Please come and bring your friends!! It’s going to be a “sweet” event.

DB Outreach: Family Snow Tubing – Boston, MA @ Nashoba Valley

When was the last time you went “tubing” with your family & Friends?  Nashoba VAlley offers a perfect opportunity to spend a wonderful day of sliding!  Individual runs for the novicce to the expert will thrill you!  You will be transported up the hill on high tech lifts and away you’ll go.

Who:  Families and Friends (minimum requirements are 42″ in height or 6 years old to participate)
When:  Saturday, March 2, 2019
Time:  9:00-12:00 – “Tubing”
12:00-1:00 – “Lunch” (bring your own or buy at Nashoba Valley)
Where:  Nashoba Valley Snow Tubing, 179 Great Rd. Littleton, MA 978-692-3033
(if parents are not able to attend, we can offer carpools for those grades 6-12)
Cost:  $10 per person, includes tube & lift $35 for family of 4+
(normally $32 per person)
What to bring:  Warm Clothes, Snow Boots, Mittens or Gloves, Hat

DiscoveryBound (DB)  & Crystal Lake Camps (CLC) Presentation – join us for refreshments and a presentation about CLC and DB!  Camp Director, Becca DeNicholas, and DB Outreach Eastern Regional Manager, Lori Selby, will talk about our youth programs and our adult and family programs.
